73rd Chapter
Being too bold with a rigid mind will lead to death.
Courage to act with a tender heart will lead to life.
Boldness or courage have different effects, harm or benefit, who knows which is which?
Who knows the wisdom behind a thing that is set in motion, and the reason for it?
Even a sage can’t answer this question.
Tao has certain principles, which we need to know.
If we don’t cause conflict, in the end, we will win. (God helps the one with a tender heart.)
If we act more than we speak then we will have the right response to things. (God’s help is through our action.)
If we follow these two principles, even if we have not prayed for help, God will help us. (God knows our heart, when we want to make things happen, He always helps.)
If we have a calm mind to observe, we can see the signs of God unfolding things and understand His wisdom.
Creation, seen and unseen, is boundless. There is nothing God does not know or can’t change or make happen.
Implications from the Holy Books
In truth, religion is a radiant light and an impregnable stronghold for the protection and welfare of the peoples of the world, for the fear of God impelleth man to hold fast to that which is good, and shun all evil. Should the lamp of religion be obscured, chaos and confusion will ensue, and the lights of fairness and justice, of tranquility and peace cease to shine. Unto this will bear witness every man of true understanding. …… O people of God! That which traineth the world is Justice, for it is upheld by two pillars, reward and punishment. These two pillars are the sources of life to the world. ── Bahá’u’lláh, Splendors
O YE PEOPLES OF THE WORLD! Know, verily, that an unforeseen calamity followeth you, and grievous retribution awaiteth you. Think not that which ye have committed hath been effaced in My sight. By My beauty! All your doings hath My pen graven with open characters upon tablets of chrysolite. ── Bahá’u’lláh, Hidden Words, Persian 63
His feet thrust him into a net; he wanders into its mesh. ── Job 18:8
Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; exalt the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said, “I waste away, I waste away! Woe to me! The treacherous betray! With treachery the treacherous betray!” Terror and pit and snare await you, people of the earth. Whoever flees at the sound of terror will fall into a pit; whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare. ── Isaiah 24:15-18
